Abstract:During the 2023 X-Force Fellowship Program, DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory researchers collaborated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology to control robotic-mounted photovoltaic (PV) cells on a six-axis robot. The objective was to further understand the efficiency of PV cells under different lighting conditions as well as the response to angular manipulations and positioning about a light source. This research would allow the Department of Defense to create and design better PV panels to supply more energy power to deployed Soldiers.
