Abstract:

Interior Ballistics of High-Velocity Guns (IBHVG) is a lumped parameter interior ballistic code developed by ARL in support of its research into propellant modeling and simulation. This manual provides a brief introduction into interior ballistics as well as a detailed explanation of the different keywords and options in the code IBHVG. This new release of IBHVG (version 5.1) fixes several bugs, some going back decades, and presents a more modern operation for the computers of today. The manual was also updated with some new sections, including a quick start guide, a short lesson on the most important variables for the modeler to consider, and how those values might be determined.
