ARO Core Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority-Serving Institutions (HBCUs/MIs) Program
The DEVCOM ARL Army Research Office Core Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority-Serving Institutions (HBCU/MI) program funds research performed by HBCU and MI institutions and principal investigators at those institutions that are often new to ARO or to specific research programs within the ARL foundational research competencies. The program offers co-funding to technical points of contact (TPOCs) to expand and diversify the research performer base, while broadening communities of interest and practice within the ARL competencies. Each year, new research proposals are considered for funding with TPOCs recommending top proposals through the associated competency.
Funding selections are typically made in advance of each fiscal year, proposal submission (following whitepaper submission and dialogue with technical program manager) should occur by third quarter of prior fiscal year.
See ARL BAA for Technical Points of Contact for each topic area/discipline.
