Abstract:LASEM (laser-induced air shock from energetic materials) is a microscale method for prescreening energetic material performance. This instruction manual is intended as a user guide for operating and troubleshooting the LASEM-420 system. It briefly describes sample preparation, the various hardware components, operating instructions, helpful tips and tricks for troubleshooting issues, as well as considerations for designing a new or upgrading the current LASEM system. As new equipment is added and additional troubleshooting wisdom arises, this manual will be updated.
