Experimentation Plan for the 2024 Combat Vehicle Robotics Evaluation of Applied Research

Abstract:

In August 2024, the ARL’s Artificial Intelligence of Maneuver and Mobility (AIMM) research program conducted experiments to provide the DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) with an opportunity to evaluate AIMM-applied research. This evaluation was held at the ARL Robotics Research Collaboration Campus at Graces Quarters, Maryland, and provided GVSC with data they could analyze to evaluate the research. The experiments demonstrated research in collaborative high-level route and formation planning, low-level path planning, and scene recognition. This technical note describes the experimental plan and documents observer data recorded during the experiment.
