Abstract:

Project Interception is an unfunded research effort to improve the readiness and operational availability of U.S. Army VTOL drive systems by advancing fault detection capabilities for main gearbox transmissions. Significant groundwork was laid in FY24 and FY25 before funding lines were reallocated. The goal of this report is to preserve the foundation for future use. The report describes an introduction to Project Interception, its early progress, and an outline for future work.
